Kathy Haines
CPA | Senior Manager
Warm. Personable. Energetic. Following some fatherly advice changed her life.
If accounting is a language, Kathy is practically a native speaker. Fluent in both auditing and tax vernacular, Kathy is a force to be reckoned with in the accounting field. She may be new to Perkins, but she definitely speaks our language—a skill honed over 20 years in the accounting field.
That’s quite an accomplishment for someone who once saw herself becoming a professor of history. Midway through her education, though, she had a change of heart. Following some fatherly advice, she explored business by taking an Intro to Accounting class. Surprised at how much she enjoyed it, she never looked back.
Today, Kathy combines her love of accounting with her penchant for teaching to give audit clients valuable lessons in streamlining accounting systems and more. A busy mom of two, Kathy spends hours cheering at volleyball and lacrosse matches and serving on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Oregon and SW Washington. She also volunteers at Northwest Pilot Project, an organization that helps low-income senior citizens find safe, affordable housing. You could say that when Kathy sets her course, she’s all in.
