CASE STUDY

Reorganization of Family Business

BACKGROUND

A second-generation family business was experiencing strife between the key members of management. As a result, the board of directors was recommending a reorganization of the company into two entities.

CHALLENGE

The property division needed to be of equal value and also include complimentary assets for operations.

SOLUTION

The Perkins valuation team worked through many scenarios assembling assets into packages to evaluate their operating effectiveness together, as well as tax basis, after-tax values, and assumptions regarding timing of sales and cash flows.

Our 1:7 ratio means more 1:1

Our ratio of executive team shareholders to staff is unusually low for a full-service regional firm: 1:7 or lower, depending on the service or industry practice group. It means you get the direct, involved attention of our top talent from day one. They proactively offer you strategy, feedback and ideas all along the way.

Don't Take Our Word For It

“The employees at Perkins are always ready and willing to dig in whenever needed. We have high demands and quick turnarounds and yet they always come through. It is always great to work with professional and seasoned partners.”

“Paris was great to work with, very informative, and explained why and how she was using numbers for our valuation that made sense to a non-accounting person.”
