Years ago, when Sydney was a wedding and portrait photographer nurturing a fledgling studio, her parents suggested she get a business degree to bolster her entrepreneurial efforts. In the process, Sydney took an accounting class. Much to her surprise, something clicked, and the artist turned auditor.

After moving from Las Vegas to complete her accounting degree at PSU, Sydney landed at Perkins. She gravitated to working one-on-one with business owners and managers, fascinated with how companies worked and how she could help them succeed.

The oldest of three, Sydney was born in Idaho and—due to her dad’s government job—had also lived in Arizona and Texas by the time she was in elementary school. The family eventually settled in Nevada, but all that moving early in life must have tired her out since she’s now a dedicated homebody. Nothing makes her happier than fluffing her nest or finding creative ways to display her cherished family photos and art—nothing, perhaps, than curling up to read perennial favorites from Harry Potter to Stephen King.
