Growing up in Gresham, Oregon, he first dreamed of being a Portland Trail Blazer or a professional skateboarder. Well, life had other plans, and after a brief stint as a physics major experimenting with blowing things up, he found his way to accounting—a career perfect for his love of math, precision, and things like spreadsheets that don’t self-combust. Discovering his knack for accounting was just the start; building meaningful relationships became the foundation of his work. For him, it’s not just about crunching numbers—he believes happy clients and happy coworkers are the ultimate recipe for success.

Outside of work, Sam’s life is anything but quiet. He’s an avid music lover who once rocked a bass guitar in jazz band and competed as a tuba soloist (the instrument was cooler than the clarinet, he swears, with no offense to clarinet players). These days, he channels his energy into staying active—lifting weights or hitting the treadmill in his garage gym, hiking Oregon trails with his wife and chocolate lab, or cheering on the Oregon Ducks in Autzen Stadium and the Portland Thorns in Providence Park with his season tickets for both teams. And when he’s not jet-setting with his wife for a vacation, you might find Sam binge-watching movies and TV shows, refining his teriyaki chicken recipe, or just enjoying the art of doing absolutely nothing because recharging is just as important.
