There’s a distinctive je ne sais quoi about Chalayane, a Portland girl who dreams of Montana sunsets, an MBA who loves swing dancing and symphonies…. Perhaps it’s her name—she’s the only Chalayane west of the Mississippi—or her uncanny ability as a tax senior manager to foresee and proactively address complex tax situations for her Perkins clients. All the same, Chalayane defies definition.
A native of western Washington, Chalayane fondly recalls childhood visits to her grandparents’ ranch in Montana. She rhapsodizes about the stunning vistas, Ponderosa pines and arid climate of Big Sky Country. But while Montana has her heart, Portland is her home. In addition to adeptly managing tax needs for Perkins, Chalayane was a longstanding member of the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra’s board of directors and a dedicated aficionado of Portland’s fabulous bookstores and eastside living. Under the “big skies” of Portland, our one-of-a-kind Chalayane is making her mark.
