Despite Oregon’s continuing constitutional ban on same-sex marriages, the Oregon Department of Administrative Services announced today that all Oregon agencies will recognize the legal marriages of gay couples. If you like your laws to avoid needless complexity, this is good news: it aligns Oregon’s position with that of the federal government, and permits any Oregon resident filing a joint federal return to file a joint Oregon return as well.
