Liping Jin

Energetic. Focused. Logical. A physician-turned-accountant and decisive go-getter.

Growing up in a small town in China, Liping always felt drawn to business due to her knack for numbers and logic. However, because of her parents’ wishes, she became a doctor. While she felt well-respected, medicine was always just a job, nothing more.

When she moved to California, a land of many career options, Liping recalled her old interest in finance, earning her MBA with an accounting focus. After just a few encounters with tax, she realized that when you truly love something, time moves fast. For Liping, tax is not just work; it’s a passion.

Determined, Liping completed her last CPA exam days before her first child was born. The family then bounced between the Bay Area, China, and Portland, finally settling in the Rose City, where Liping worked as a tax accountant in Canby and Lake Oswego before landing at Perkins.

Now happily ensconced in the systematic rules-based world of tax accounting, Liping is doing work she loves in a place she loves—and she’s thrilled to be able to help all her clients. In her free time, Liping explores Portland’s many trails, enjoys reading about the lives of people from other cultures, and flexes her expert-level Chinese cooking skills by, say, making 200 dumplings for her daughter to carry back to college.
