Highly disciplined, Sean works hard and plays hard. Whether he’s helping corporations calculate their tax burden or pushing himself to the limit in cyclo-cross, he’s in constant motion. A busy tax shareholder, Sean supports our audit staff in tax compliance and is a valued part of our hiring team, a regular presence at recruiting events.

For an unassuming guy from Tualatin, Sean has a lot going on. In high school, he lived in Costa Rica for a couple months, immersing himself in the culture and the language—and it made an impression. In college, his love of Cuban poetry and the mythology of Don Quixote led him to nab a degree in Spanish literature. But he also wanted a stable career, so he earned a double bachelor’s, his second degree in accounting.

In off hours, you can usually find Sean on—you guessed it—a bicycle. A few years ago, he discovered cyclo-cross, a Belgian racing sport that features multiple laps over a short course with pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles. The race requires riders to dismount and carry their bike while navigating obstructions. It’s a punishing feat that’s as much a part of Sean’s life as work, Timbers games, bicycle road racing and patching up his 1924 bungalow—because Sean never takes the easy way out.
