Nick Murray isn’t your average Senior Manager in Perkins’ tax department. Sure, he’s got nearly a decade of experience working with pass-through entities, nonprofits, and individuals. And yes, he’s a whiz at creating tax strategies that actually work for his clients. But what really sets Nick apart? His ability to make the mundane, like Excel sheets, feel revolutionary and exciting. He’s the go-to guy for colleagues and clients when things like spreadsheets need some extra magic.

Nick followed in his mom’s footsteps into the world of accounting, while his brother kept the family balanced by inheriting their dad’s knack for engineering. What got him hooked? The thrill of making numbers click into place, similar to solving a 1000-piece jigsaw. Puzzles, in all forms, are kind of his thing—escape rooms included.

When he’s not crafting tax solutions or Excel masterpieces, Nick’s chasing passions outside the office. A lifelong animal lover turned Finance Committee member at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW), Nick thoroughly enjoys bringing his financial acumen to support HSSW’s important mission. He’s also a musician – playing guitar, drums, bass and dabbling in a multitude of other stringed instruments – while dreaming about dusting off the old trumpet at his parents’ house. You’ll often find him biking through Portland’s lively community rides or indulging in his favorite foods—pho, Thai, and anything with a serious kick (Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, anyone?).
