You’d never guess by her calm demeanor that Alla thinks nothing of hosting 50 family members for Thanksgiving or taking a 13-hour flight with her young children. The second of twelve, Alla loves big gatherings and keeping family close. When you move from Russia to the U.S. at age 10 speaking no English, you lean on your loved ones to carry you through.
Alla’s family-first credo extends to her Perkins “work family,” too. She deeply respects and cares for her coworkers, praising their supportiveness and knowledge. With tax clients, Alla again puts relationships first, working hard to give them superb service—just as you would for family.
Even Alla’s favorite activities—skiing and experiencing life in other cultures—are family events. Her favorite getaways always include her children, whether it’s a ski trip to Whistler or a European adventure through Germany, Croatia, Austria, and the Czech Republic. To Alla, it’s all in a day’s work to, as Maya Angelou writes, sustain herself with the love of family.
