A keen leader within our tax department, Susan holds an established practice in professional services, working with physicians, medical clinics, attorneys, architects and engineers. A natural fit for Susan since growing up in a healthcare environment, with a doctor dad and a healthcare administrator mom. Susan also provides taxation and business consulting for closely-held businesses in the manufacturing and real estate sectors. She enjoys strategizing with business owners, helping them to work towards their business and personal financial goals. She is arguably one of the brainiest people in our office and we make sure to take full advantage of her smarts by enlisting her to oversee much of the technical and software training at the firm.
Susan earned a bachelors degree in theater before earning her masters degree in accounting. What is a theater major doing at an accounting firm? Don’t worry, she satisfies her creative side by immersing herself every September at the Time Based Art Festival produced by the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art.
Quiet, but not stuffy, Susan threw a birthday party for her three favorite mechanical pencils during the 2007 tax season. Yup, the writing instruments turned ten and Susan sent out invitations and baked cupcakes. Smart, with a real sense of humor. She’s a great match for Perkins & Co.
