Meet our resident financial mechanic with a knack for fraud detection.
Kathy joined our tax team in 2013 and we consider wooing her to Perkins a major coup. Owning her own business since 1985, Kathy’s entrepreneurial energy and fierce commitment to client service makes her a perfect match for Perkins.
Kathy supports our Dealer Services Practice Group and with 27 years of experience, including hours upon hours working onsite with her automotive dealership client teams, she certainly understands the intricate operations behind the showroom glitz. She also knows how to spot fraud, an all too prevalent issue within the auto dealership industry. The long time joke: “If there’s something strange in your dealership. Who ya gonna call? Call Murphy!”
Kathy is also passionate about working with closely-held businesses and their owners. She loves teaching them how to use financial data to better run their businesses and she stays involved with her clients all year long (not just at tax time) to help with strategic planning. Ultimately for Kathy, it’s all about helping her clients reap the rewards of all of their hard work.
Kathy finished her degree at Portland State University while raising her twins, a son and daughter. Before starting her own firm with former partner Linda Top, Kathy worked for Moss Adams, LLP, and Oregon Bank managing the Business Advisory Department.
Kathy loves cycling and shares that Cycle Oregon was one of her most incredible life experiences. She also enjoys hiking and world travel. Her favorites so far: Egypt, Machu Picchu and Paris.
